“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body – it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL SPORTS TOURS

At Latitude Group Travel, we take Health and PE beyond the school grounds!

We custom design Health and PE school tours that align with the Australian Curriculum and International Baccalaureate frameworks. Whether your focus is on sports performance, health education or outdoor recreation, we build unique, curriculum-linked, sports-based educational trips through hands-on, experiential learning.

Where movement meets meaningful learning

From Olympic legacies to grassroots sport, Health and Physical Education tours offer more than physical challenge — they spark conversations about wellbeing, equity, leadership and the science of performance. Our curriculum-linked international tours connect theory to practice through real-world experiences that stay with students long after the final whistle.

By exploring elite athlete recovery techniques, understanding nutrition from experts, and examining how sport shapes culture and society, students gain a well-rounded perspective. Each tour is aligned with the Australian Health and Physical Education curriculum and the IB frameworks, supporting key areas like Personal, Social and Community Health and Movement and Physical Activity.

Tours open cross-curricular pathways with Psychology, Biology, Business, Health Sciences and Geography. Students might explore biomechanics, stadium operations, or global approaches to sport and inclusion. Itineraries are tailored to your group’s level and learning goals, with options including access to elite sports facilities, talks with sports psychologists or coaches, and visits to sites of major international sporting events. Destinations such as London, Tokyo, Sydney, Barcelona and Los Angeles offer powerful insights into sport, health and culture.

Australian Curriculum Links

Our tours support key learning outcomes in the Health and Physical Education curriculum including:

  • Understanding and applying movement concepts and strategies.

  • Exploring the impact of physical activity on wellbeing and community health.

IB Curriculum Links

Our tours link directly to MYP and DP subject groups, including:

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION SUBJECT ACTIVITIES

Our itineraries allow your group to take in iconic sights, combined with as many classes, workshops, themed guided tours and curriculum-linked, experiential learning activities as you wish. We ensure that academic and practical endeavours are age and experience appropriate. Our knowledge of the curriculum (state, national and International Baccalaureate, along with any other curriculum you may teach) and our consultative process, ensures that we understand the learning outcomes required

Example experiential learning activities:
  • Learn about the bio-mechanics of rock climbing in this hands-on workshop, utilising ICT and a range of other skills in the process
  • In travelling to the country of your choice, students will visit a local school, or similar, to explore the role that games, sports and outdoor recreation play in shaping the culture and identity of this country’s people and the students with whom they are interacting. This will involve some research and understanding of the culture of both young people and adults in this country prior to departure and, of course, while you are there
  • Get up close and personal with endangered manatees by swimming alongside them in their natural seagrass habitat
  • Visit New Zealand and experience unparalleled outdoor adventure activities. Evaluate the safety of these activities and determine whether they have value in maintenance or improvement of health and physical skills
  • Take this hands-on workshop teaching time management and goal-setting
  • As a very current issue, students will work in a group or groups to discuss and evaluate the any positive impacts and/or concerning issues surrounding the popularity and use of Pokémon Go. The intent of this project is to determine policies that students believe should be implemented at home, in schools and in society in general. This group work applies in most societies and countries, so that this project can be carried out in whichever country you choose
  • Visit an organisation focussed on assisting youth with issues around drug addiction, sexuality and more. Your students will develop and implement a project to help the youth focus on health and physical movement via sports and active games. Your group will interact with these youths to gain a sense of the group’s social and personal capabilities. This project requires your student group to use their most sensitive communication skills. This is an appropriate project for almost any country you choose
  • After this project, your students will take some reflection time, individually and as a group, to identify where they could have improved their approach and their communication skills. They will also review their own strengths and those of the youth group with whom they have worked. If beneficial to the youth group, they can return and provide positive feedback to that group
