“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” John F. Kennedy

HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION TOURS

Latitude Group Travel custom designs tours to link to the Health and Physical Education curriculum. Our expertise enables us to develop or identify specific, curriculum-linked, experiential learning activities to engage your students in active learning, specific to this subject

ALMOST ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

There are endless tour options that we can offer.  We work in consultation with you to carefully craft the ultimate customised tour.  Your tour can be designed around a selected part or all of the Health and Physical Education curriculum that you are teaching, alongside the general capabilities listed in the Australian curriculum, or the IB Learner Profile.  We can design a tour for any ages and year levels.  Year levels can be combined as you wish

SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

Safe and secure travel is a paramount for us and our ground operators. Latitude Group Travel along with our tour operators have extensive experience in worldwide educational group travel.

COMBINING SUBJECTS ON THE ONE TOUR

Our expertise allows us to organise your tour so that several subject groups can travel together successfully.  Imagine all of your groups concurrently engaged in their own area of interest – workshop, clinic, class or themed guided tour (and more).  Combine your IB students with your mainstream curriculum and we will ensure relevant activities for both groups.  Later, enjoy sightseeing and a range of other experiences together, so the groups feel as one.  Considering a tour in this way will assist with economies of scale and helps meet your minimum participant number requirement.

Unconditional support every step of the way

At Latitude Group Travel, we’re here to make your travel experience enjoyable and stress free. We simplify the group travel process for you by taking care of all the details, leaving nothing to chance. From the moment you start planning your trip, we are with you every step of the way. Your experience is delivered in one seamless process and all the planning, preparation, logistics and hard work is done for you. With our knowledgeable tour directors by your side and our whole team behind you, you will have an extraordinary, safe, easy and rewarding travel experience – without any of the hassle!

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION SUBJECT ACTIVITIES

Our itineraries allow your group to take in iconic sights, combined with as many classes, workshops, themed guided tours and curriculum-linked, experiential learning activities as you wish. We ensure that academic and practical endeavours are age and experience appropriate. Our knowledge of the curriculum (state, national and International Baccalaureate, along with any other curriculum you may teach) and our consultative process, ensures that we understand the learning outcomes required

Example experiential learning activities:
  • Learn about the bio-mechanics of rock climbing in this hands-on workshop, utilising ICT and a range of other skills in the process
  • In travelling to the country of your choice, students will visit a local school, or similar, to explore the role that games, sports and outdoor recreation play in shaping the culture and identity of this country’s people and the students with whom they are interacting. This will involve some research and understanding of the culture of both young people and adults in this country prior to departure and, of course, while you are there
  • Get up close and personal with endangered manatees by swimming alongside them in their natural seagrass habitat
  • Visit New Zealand and experience unparalleled outdoor adventure activities. Evaluate the safety of these activities and determine whether they have value in maintenance or improvement of health and physical skills
  • Take this hands-on workshop teaching time management and goal-setting
  • As a very current issue, students will work in a group or groups to discuss and evaluate the any positive impacts and/or concerning issues surrounding the popularity and use of Pokémon Go. The intent of this project is to determine policies that students believe should be implemented at home, in schools and in society in general. This group work applies in most societies and countries, so that this project can be carried out in whichever country you choose
  • Visit an organisation focussed on assisting youth with issues around drug addiction, sexuality and more. Your students will develop and implement a project to help the youth focus on health and physical movement via sports and active games. Your group will interact with these youths to gain a sense of the group’s social and personal capabilities. This project requires your student group to use their most sensitive communication skills. This is an appropriate project for almost any country you choose
  • After this project, your students will take some reflection time, individually and as a group, to identify where they could have improved their approach and their communication skills. They will also review their own strengths and those of the youth group with whom they have worked. If beneficial to the youth group, they can return and provide positive feedback to that group

OPEN THEIR EYES TO A WORLD OF POSSIBILITY

We’re committed to helping teachers and their students bring Health and Physical Education to life, by creating memorable and unique experiences.

We can identify and offer the most valuable experiences for your students to learn the wide range of personal and physical skills required in this course. Via an up-close and personal Q & A session, we can introduce the group to HPE professionals on the front line, enabling them to gain valuable insight into potential careers. Our tours are carefully crafted and unique experiences that can not only enhance classroom and outdoor learning but create life-long learners.
