Each tour program develops student knowledge of societies and their significance through interactions with primary and secondary source materials, expert-led immersive workshops and guided tours. Custom designed, our History tours can run for 3 to 7 days. All programs are designed to elaborate on the cross-curriculum priority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures ensuring a seamless integration of multiple perspectives in student learning.

LANGUAGES

Japanese

Immerse yourself in the Land of the Rising Sun on this six-day tour that aims to provide students the opportunity to develop their Japanese language skills through a series of engaging, interactive cultural experiences. Australia’s rich history of engagement with Japan means that there are countless learning opportunities on offer right here in our own backyard. In addition to intensive language classes, the majority of the experiences on this tour are conducted in Japanese, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world contexts. SPANISH

Hola! Immerse yourself in one of the most widely spoken languages on the planet. While Spain is the natural choice for studying Spanish, Brisbane’s large Latin American community makes Queensland a great alternative. Increase students’ proficiency and fluency on a 4 day immersion in Brisbane. Students apply their language skills in real life contexts. with interactive experiences and tours conducted in Spanish. Whether its in a paella cooking class, conversing with El Salvadorans on the soccer field locals, or learning how to Flamenco with a leading Flamenco instructor, there is plenty for students to enjoy and improve their language skills.

Discover one of the most biodiverse landscapes on the planet. Explore this incredible natural wonder and examine how the effects of climate change are taking their toll on the Reef.

Rainforest

Step into a natural paradise as you explore the incredible diversities of Australia’s most picturesque rainforests. Australia’s plant diversity and structural complexities are some of the most elaborate on Earth.

    • Learn how to conduct a revegetation survey and explore the results to determine tree growth rates, survival rates and tree succession

Earth-Explorer

Earth and Environmental Studies – Cape Hillsborough

Explore the essential nexus between the Earth’s internal energy sources and its transformations that produce lava, explosive volcanoes, hot gasses and associated releases of kinetic energy on a three-day tour to Cape Hillsborough. While it is not possible to witness actual volcanism on Australia’s mainland today, the raw power released in volcanic eruptions is extremely evident along the headland with the pyroclastic rock formations.  During this tour, discuss the origins of heat energy and all the energy transformations involved in volcanic events through time.

Tour Highlights:

Kioloa
  • Gain an introduction to Paleogene lava flows and pyroclastic rocks that feature in the rocky headlands around the area, now thought to be the first coastal location of Paleogene hot spot volcanism.
  • Discuss the processes that subduction and rifting put rocks through and how they are or are not related to Hot Spot volcanism
  • document igneous events that occurred concomitantly with plate motion and tectonism on the eastern seaboard of Australia in the relatively recent past.
  • Site visits to Rock platforms and cliff faces to examine outcrops, including measuring sections, photographing key elements, measuring grainsizes and documenting rock-rock relationships

This curriculum linked educational travel program provides students with the opportunity to recognise the diversity of Indigenous groups within Victoria through experiences that facilitate a rich engagement across Indigenous scientific and environmental knowledge systems. This tour offers students avenues to explore Indigenous connections to land and people through art and storytelling.
