AN UPDATE FROM THE FOUNDERS OF LATITUDE GROUP TRAVEL ON COVID-19

News

To all our valued current and future clients,

We wish to provide you with a short update on the COVID-19 situation.

As of June 2020, we continue to manage our clients 2020 tour cancellations and process refunds as quickly as possible. We are working through each tour one by one, in the order of departure date. It is an extremely slow process, as each tour has a large number of individual components (food, accommodation, flights, activities, logistical elements etc) in overseas locations, which they, themselves are also dealing with the impacts of COVID-19.

Many businesses with which we have booked have reduced staff capacity and some are currently not able to respond at this time. We are progressing through this enormous process as best we can. We are keeping in contact, as often as possible, with the teachers or school leadership managing the tour, to keep them informed of our progress. They are then providing timely updates to parents and students – while juggling the main challenges incurred by COVID-19 at their schools. This process will be ongoing for a few months yet, as we reach tours with planned departures later in 2020.

We would like to thank all of our clients, from school leadership and teaching staff, to students and their parents – so disappointed to have their tours cancelled – to our non-school clients, for the incredible patience and kindness they have extended to us in these incredibly difficult times.

As you can imagine, this is a devastating situation for us and our dedicated team. Our incredibly passionate staff have remained positive and committed to helping us look to the future, when we can provide exceptional tours once again. We would like to them for their contribution to the future of student travel.

We would also like to take this opportunity to announce that our exceptional new suite of Australian based, experiential learning focussed, tour programs is now live (albeit still a work in progress!). These tours aim to provide students with similar life-changing experiences that they would have had internationally, right here on home soil. We are not talking about run-of-the-mill excursions. These are programs are designed to combine the best Australia has to offer across all subject areas, with extraordinary benefits for students.

Suffice to say, Australia offers many of the equivalent exciting, quality, cutting-edge experiential learning experiences, workshops, simulations, role-plays, guided tours and access to sites for all subjects that are available internationally and we think you will be more than impressed with what we can show you in our new, Australian centred subject based, curriculum linked tours.

Lastly, we wish to convey to you our confidence in emerging out of this situation stronger and even more committed to our corporate vision:

To be the world’s best provider of meaningful, experiential learning based, educational tours and programs, which open students’ eyes to a world of possibilities.

Our commitment to developing a brighter future for our world, through providing exceptional educational and experiential tours and programs to students, is stronger than ever.

We wish you all health, happiness and success coming through this most difficult time

Jenny and Dennis Murphy
